Summer Beach Reads!

Is there anything better than a day at the beach with a great book?  We love a good beach read!  Thick, thin, heavy subjects, light-hearted reads–a great beach read just has to take us away and give us those moments when we go—Whaaaat???  Our happy place is under a palapa, overlooking crystal blue waters, margarita in hand with an engaging beach read!  Even a rainy day at the beach is fabulous when you have a great book, and a glass of wine….it’s just so… ahhh!

Versailles, The Sun King, and All Things Golden

Last fall, my mom and I spent a glorious day exploring all things Louis. It was Mama's first time in France (really the first time anywhere in Europe) and I was looking forward to delighting in the grandeur of Versailles. The Chateau Versailles is a delightful...

Armchair Traveler: Floating in Glacier Bay, Alaska

I was seriously unprepared for the beauty of Alaska.  Oh yeah, I heard about the glaciers calving—dramatically splashing in the water.  I saw the photos of the wilderness, and the mountains…. It just seemed so….tame.  Cruising in...

The Arm Chair Traveler: Boating on the Amalfi Coast

In one of my favorite movies, Out of Africa, Karen von Blixen entertains Barkley and Denys with dinner on her beautiful Limoges (woman after my own heart), wine, and stories of faraway places.  After her beautiful, moving story is done, Denys asks her if she...
